Powered by Two Decades of Experience
BuildMyServer is backed by Ombligo, a leading IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) provider with more than 20 years of experience in enterprise hardware lifecycle management. Operating from our R2-certified headquarters in Brooklyn, New York, Ombligo has helped organizations of every size securely manage, refurbish, and redeploy enterprise IT equipment while minimizing environmental impact. This expertise gives BuildMyServer access to enterprise-grade inventory, rigorous refurbishment processes, and a level of technical knowledge that few online hardware retailers can match.
Our sister company, TechMikeNY, has supplied tens of thousands of refurbished servers to customers around the world and has built a reputation for quality, reliability, and exceptional customer service. BuildMyServer extends that same commitment for fully customized server solutions.

Every System Is Built for You
Unlike mass-produced hardware, every BuildMyServer system is configured specifically for your order.
Behind every server we ship is T.I.P.S. (Testing, Inventorying and Purging System), our proprietary software platform developed in-house by our parent company, Ombligo. Built over more than twenty years of real-world IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) operations, T.I.P.S. was designed by technicians who process enterprise hardware every day, not by software vendors guessing what the workflow should look like.
Every server entering our facility is automatically inventoried, allowing us to identify every processor, DIMM, drive, controller, and network adapter with precision. Comprehensive hardware diagnostics validate the health and functionality of critical components before they're ever considered for resale, while detailed reporting gives our technicians complete visibility into each system throughout its lifecycle.
Data security is equally important. Storage devices undergo industry-standard sanitization procedures using NIST 800-88 and IEEE 2883 compliant workflows, with verification performed before drives are returned to inventory. Every action, from testing and grading to sanitization and final inspection is recorded, providing complete traceability and accountability throughout the refurbishment process.
Only after passing our quality assurance standards does a server move to assembly. Each system is professionally configured, thoroughly cleaned, extensively tested, and subjected to a final inspection to ensure that every component works together exactly as intended.
We don't simply resell used enterprise hardware. We combine experienced technicians with proprietary software and repeatable quality-control processes to remanufacture enterprise systems that are ready for years of dependable service.
Sustainability Is More Than a Buzzword
Every refurbished server represents hardware that stays in productive use instead of entering the waste stream. At BuildMyServer, sustainability isn't a marketing initiative, it's part of our foundation. Through our parent company, Ombligo, we work to maximize the amount of equipment that can be reused, refurbished, repurposed, and upcycled before recycling ever becomes necessary.
By extending the lifecycle of enterprise hardware, we help:
Reduce electronic waste
Conserve the raw materials and energy required to manufacture new equipment
Lower the environmental impact of IT infrastructure
Give businesses and individuals access to affordable enterprise technology
Choosing refurbished hardware is one small decision that creates a measurable environmental benefit.
